Night markets open at the hour when the ordinary shops are closing. Stalls selling food, clothes and telephone cases appear along a street at about six o'clock, and the same street is completely empty again by midnight, with nothing to show they were ever there. For a great many sellers this is a second job, done after a full day of ordinary work, and the low rent charged for a few metres of pavement is what makes the arrangement possible at all.
