Students who do their homework at the same hour every day generally finish it a good deal faster than those who do not. A fixed time removes the decision about when to begin, and beginning is the difficult part for almost everybody. Teachers suggest choosing an hour when the house is reasonably quiet and nobody is likely to interrupt. The place matters quite as much as the hour: a table works considerably better than a bed, where concentration disappears within minutes.
